Study of European Modern Architecture

Fall 2011 - Continental Europe

The study of modern European architecture done by 4th year students is a program in which thirty five VT students travel out of a suitcase, from city to city, over the course of 70 consecutive days (a full semester, no weekends). During this time, we visited eight different countries with the intent of furthering our knowledge of European architecture by documenting our travel - both the purposeful and accidental discoveries. Our program exhibited photographs and sketches in the following semester. Additionally, each student chose topic for further research which was compiled into a collection of essays and printed for the exhibition.
